The General Electric Corp. manufactures many home appliances, such as stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, microwaves, washers and dryers. Some of these appliances are produced under the Hotpoint name brand, including Hotpoint washing machines. The washing machines have several features, including variable water, temperature and time cycles. Some Hotpoint washers have a child lock feature that prevents children or other users from operating the machine when the lock is engaged. Unlocking the child lock on a Hotpoint washer is relatively simple.
