The Tiger Power Tour Electric guitar helps budding musicians learn to play guitar as well as enjoy fun jam sessions. The guitar offers a learn mode that teaches the appropriate fret position and strum rhythm for playing preset songs. Though the guitar serves as an effective stepping stone towards learning to play, you must eventually move on to a traditional guitar. The Tiger guitar does not help you build the finger and hand strength required for more advanced playing.

Use your Phillips screwdriver to insert four "AA" batteries and replace the battery compartment on the back of the guitar.

After you turn on the guitar, turn the "MODE" knob to "Jam."

Push the strum bar downwards with the thumb of your right hand. Place the fingers of your left hand on the frets of the electric guitar. Move your fingers and thumb to try out the guitar and get a feel for it. Turn the "TONE" knob to "Metal," "Punk," "Rock" or "Indie" for different sounds.

Strum the guitar by brushing the softest part of your thumb against the strum bar using an up or down motion. Palm the guitar by pressing the edge of your palm against the edge of the strum bar after strumming with your thumb. Continue strumming to create the sound of a "palm mute."

Bend notes by playing a note then moving the neck of the guitar up or down by several inches.

Play a "hammer-on" by brushing the bar with your thumb then quickly moving the finger of your left hand to a new fret that is farther down the neck than the first note. Play a "pull-off" by pulling your finger off a fret right after you strum.

Learn the guitar by turning the "MODE" knob to "Learn." Click on one of the frets to choose a lesson. Watch the lights on the guitar to determine what to play. A green light indicates a strum, a red light indicates a palm mute, and an amber light indicates a pull-off or hammer-on. Play the phrase of music as indicated by the blinking lights. If you play perfectly, the guitar makes a cheering noise and moves onto the next phrase. If you miss a note, the guitar makes a clicking noise.

TIP

You can also play along with a familiar song if you use the "Band Accompaniment" setting on the "MODE" knob. After learning with the Tiger guitar, move on to a traditional electronic guitar.
