Samick Sports is a Korean producer of archery products that imports to more than 50 countries. Part of its product line is the Samick Agulla recurve bow. A recurve bow's tips curve away from the main bow section, forming two approximate "S" shapes. The company sells Samick Agulla recurve bow in parts: handle, or riser, and limbs.

Riser

The handle, or riser, of the bow is the part you hold with one hand while drawing the string with the other. The Samick Agulla makes its recurve bow of die-cast magnesium with a plastic grip. You can buy left- or right- handed versions. They are 25 inches long and weigh 1.09 Kilogram. The riser features universal fitting limb pockets which will accept several types of limb. It has a tiller/weight adjustment and also a side-to-side adjustment. The riser has a painted surface in five colours: blue, green, grey, red and violet.

Limbs

The limbs are the curved pieces that fit into the handle, or riser, to complete the bow profile. Samick Sports feature two types of limb on their Samick Agulla page, one made of laminated glass and the other of carbon graphite. An important feature of limbs is their draw weight. Draw weight is the force, in pounds, that you exert on the string to fire an arrow.

Laminated Glass Limbs

The bow lengths available are 66, 68 and 70 inches. The limb colour is silver. The available draw weights for the 66-inch limb are 24 to 34lbs. The available draw weights for the 68-inch limb are 24 to 36lbs. The available draw weights for the 70-inch limb are 26 to 38lbs.

Carbon Graphite Limbs

As with laminated glass limbs, the bow lengths available are 66, 68 and 70 inches. Likewise, the limb colour is silver. The available draw weights for the 66-inch limb are 28 to 40lbs. The available draw weights for the 68-inch limb are 30 to 42lbs. The available draw weights for the 70-inch limb are 32 to 44lbs.

Samick Agulla Package

You can find a Samick Agulla package on some official stocklists, such as Aardvark Archery. The package includes riser, limbs, string with nocking point, rest, eight arrows, sight, pressure button, armguard, leather platform tab, or thumb ring, bowstringer, quiver and hard case. The package includes set-up of the bow with limb alignment.
