Click "Start," then "All Programs" and then "Microsoft Visio."

Click the "Microsoft Office" button and then "Open" from the drop-down menu. Select the file you wish to open and click the "Open" button.

Click "View" from the top menu and then click "Drawing Explorer Window."

Right-click the file name from the Drawing Explorer window and then click "Protect Document."

Uncheck the box next to "Shapes" from the Protect Document window.

Click "OK" to save your changes.
