Closed captions appear on your Sharp Aquos LCD TV as subtitles on the bottom of the screen. This feature is primarily used to assist hearing-impaired viewers in understanding what is being said. However, it is also useful in loud environments or when you have to mute the TV. If you find your Sharp Aquos is permanently configured to display subtitles, you can easily turn them off by disabling closed captions through the on-screen menu.
