Lipstick can pull double-duty by moisturising your lips and adding a burst of colour to brighten your appearance. However, over time and during regular activities such as eating and talking, your lipstick may fade. You can buy products to seal your lipstick, but they can be costly and contain a number of artificial ingredients. Or, you can seal your lipstick at home with a few simple steps.

Apply lipstick as usual.
Separate a piece of tissue paper into a single layer.
Press the tissue paper over your lips, being careful not to press too hard and remove the lipstick.
Dip the brush into face powder. In a pinch, substitute cornstarch for powder.
Dust the brush over the tissue paper on top of your lips to set the lipstick.
TIP
To further prevent lipstick from feathering, first line the lips with a lipliner before applying lipstick. If you do not have time to follow the tissue paper and powder method, lightly rub an ice cube over your lips. This will help lock the colour in place, preventing smudging and fading.
