The Mitsubishi L200 is a diesel engine truck released by Mitsubishi and marketed specifically in Great Britain. In the L200, glow plugs ignite the fuel to keep the truck moving. Sometimes, these glow plugs go bad or malfunction. When this happens, it is a good to know how to replace them yourself so that you can get back on the road quickly and save yourself some money. Replacing the glow plugs is not a difficult task once you know what you are looking for.

Open the bonnet on your L200.
Look at the centre of the engine. Depending on the year of your L200, the glow plugs will either be in the centre of the engine on either side of the block, or they will be more to the right and higher above the actual engine block. Look for small, pencil-shaped pieces that are silver and similar in size to an adult's pinky finger.
Remove the air intake hose if it obstructs your reach to the glow plugs. If the air intake hose is in the way, use your flat head screwdriver to loosen the clamps over the hose and then pull the hose straight out of the engine.
