A Tanita jewellery digital scale can display weights in gram, ounce, carat, troy, penny or grain measurements. Calibrating a scale ensures the scale is weighing and measuring correctly and the weight displayed on the screen is correct. A scale should be calibrated before its first use, as the scale can become unbalanced due to shipping. After the first use, you should calibrate the scale at least weekly.
