When you call others from your cell phone, there may be times you don't want your number revealed to the one you are calling. If this is the case, you can block the other party from seeing it one time or every time you make a call. The FCC has set guidelines for how to do this.
- When you call others from your cell phone, there may be times you don't want your number revealed to the one you are calling.
Dial 67 before entering the number to block your call a single time. For example, dial 67 555-555-5555. When you call someone it will show up as “Blocked Caller.”
Re-dial *67 every time that you call someone in order to block your call, otherwise your number will show up.
Request that your number always be blocked from your cell phone provider. This way you do not have to dial *67 before every call and it will always show up as a blocked call.
TIP
If your number is always blocked, but you want it to show up on a specific call, press *82 before dialling the number.
