You can use electronic remote controls to control just about anything in your entertainment centre. However, if you recently purchased a newer television, you need to reset the TV remote so it can be used with the newer television. Resetting the television's remote control doesn't take long and often it isn't necessary, because when you program the remote for a new television, the old programming codes are removed automatically.
