Timex Indiglo watches come equipped with a hourly chime feature that operates as an alarm that beeps on the hour, every hour. Sometimes this feature is activated automatically after battery replacement, and it can be annoying if you don't know how to go about turning it off. The good news is that the process of stopping the hourly chime is a relatively easy one.
- Timex Indiglo watches come equipped with a hourly chime feature that operates as an alarm that beeps on the hour, every hour.
Make sure your Timex Indiglo watch is in the normal time display. If your watch is displaying military time or is in countdown timer mode, you will need to reset to normal time. If it displays normal time, skip to Step 3.
Press the "Mode" button on the side of the watch repeatedly until normal time is displayed on the watch face. For most Timex Indiglo models, the "Mode" button is located on the left side of the watch. However, on some models it is located on the bottom of the right side; it will be clearly marked.
Press and hold the "Start/Stop" button on the upper right corner of the watch. This button is located in the same place on all Timex Indiglo models. However, on some models it is labelled as the "Alarm On" button.
Hold the button down until the colon in between the hour and minutes on the display screen stays solid. This means that the hourly chime is turned off. Conversely, if you hold the "Start/Stop" button down until the colon flashes intermittently, this means that the chime is turned on.
