Advent laptop computers are equipped with a touchpad and two buttons that service the function of an external mouse. The touchpad can be turned on or deactivated, depending on the user's preference. It's not difficult to either activate or deactivate it.
Power up the computer.
Connect a plug-and-play computer mouse to a free USB port on the laptop. The mouse is just temporary to help you get the touchpad working again.
Locate the touchpad icon, which is in the lower right-hand side of the screen. The icon will appear as a grey square or rectangle, with two rectangular buttons underneath.
