Making sure that the headlights in your KIA Sorento are properly adjusted is essential for safe night driving. If the headlights are out of alignment, you'll have a significant reduction in nighttime visibility when compared with properly adjusted lights. This can create dangerous situations on public roads for all drivers. Fortunately, if the headlights on your KIA are out of adjustment, there are adjustment screws to fix the alignment and improve headlight projection.

Open your hood and locate the vertical and horizontal adjustment screws. The vertical adjustment screw will be located on the back of the headlight, on the inside of the upper headlight, while the horizontal adjustment screw is on the "inside" of the headlight housing toward the nose of the hood.
Orient the Sorento so that the front of the vehicle is facing a wall and is positioned approximately 10 to 25 feet away from it.
Mark the horizontal and vertical centre lines of the headlights on the wall. Find the centre of your headlights. Place a strip of masking tape horizontally on the wall that corresponds to the centre of the KIA's headlight housing. Repeat this process for the vertical centre line.

Turn on the headlights. Adjust the horizontal and vertical adjustment screws so that the headlight is 2 to 4 inches below the horizontal centre line and 2 to 4 inches to the right of the vertical centre line. On the Sorento, this will adjust both your low and high beams.
Remove the masking tape from the wall.
