The Ford Fiesta is equipped with folding rear seats. This is very convenient as you can easily increase your boot space when it is needed. The seat is locked into place and released by what is known as a seat catch. Depending on your model of Fiesta, the seat catch has two different mechanisms. In the event that your seat catch breaks, your back seat will not lock into place. You can remove and replace the catch by following the instructions below.
Move to the boot of your vehicle.
Pull the knob to release the seat catch.
Fold the rear seats down.
Remove the two screws that are exposed on the catch assembly.
- Pull the knob to release the seat catch.
- Remove the two screws that are exposed on the catch assembly.
- Pull the knob to release the seat catch.
- Remove the two screws that are exposed on the catch assembly.
Remove the catch cover by pulling it away from the assembly.
Pull the catch partially away from the assembly until you can locate the catch cable.
Disconnect the catch cable from the catch.
Move to the boot of your vehicle.
Pull the knob to release the seat catch.
Fold the rear seats down.
Unscrew the catch knob from the top of the back seat by turning it counterclockwise.
Gently pull away the seat cover on the flange of the back seat.
Move aside the cushioning that has been exposed.
Remove the catch assembly by removing the two bolts that secure it to the seat.
