UDF (Universal Disk Format) is a file extension for a data storage format which deals with optical media information. WMV (Windows Media Video) is a Microsoft-made digital video compression format used by numerous common codecs and players.
In order to convert from UDF to WMV, a conversion program must be used. Several of these are available online as free trial downloads.

Download and install Need 4 Video Converter 7.0 (see Resources).
Run the conversion program on the desktop. Select "File," then "Open" from the top menu bar. Choose a UDF file for conversion. Click "Open."
Select "WMV" in the "Output file:" field. Click the "Browse" button next to the "Save to:" field. Select a target destination for the converted file. Click "OK."
Enter a file name into the "Save as:" field.

Click the red "Convert" button at the bottom of the main window to begin the conversion process.
Download and install "Any Video Converter Freeware" (see Resources).
Run the conversion program on the desktop. Click the "Add Video" button. Select a UDF file for conversion. Click "Add."
Select "WMV (*.wmv)" from the "Profile:" menu. Click the "Output Folder" button. Select a target destination folder for the converted WMV file. Click "OK."
